The Tamil Nadu Civil Supply Corporation is a public-owned crown corporation registered under the Companies Act 1956. This company was registered under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013. the name “TAMIL NADU CIVIL SUPPLIES CORPORATION” wef 04.01.2010. Acquire, store, and distribute essential products for PDS, Spl.PDS and the midday meal program. The Company operates department stores as a market intervention to control the prices of commodities such as rice, coals, vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, etc. in the open market. The Company was the lead organization for the acquisition of Fan, Mixie, and Grinder, an iconic government program.
The board of directors of the company has 11 directors, including the chairman. The Honorable Minister of Food and Civil Supplies is the Chairman of the Board of Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies Corporation. The General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day administration of the company. The company has 33 regions, each economic district coincides with a region, except for Chennai. Chennai is positioned as a northern and southern region to meet the needs of the people. The list includes 7982 permanent employees, in addition to 6631 shippers working in the Company’s low and modern rice production plants.
